Current resistance of PTFE tubes

The PTFE tube is also called a PTFE tube. The benefits of PTFE tubes as electrical insulators are well known. The high dielectric strength and breakdown voltage make the PTFE tube a standard insulating material. In applications, PTFE tubes must be very flexible and have no cracks/inclusions that can affect insulation properties.


In addition, the PTFE tube itself must be of continuous length due to the requirement for cables that may be continuous and have no joints. Therefore, it is necessary to be able to manufacture a continuous tube having a length of at least 150 to 300 meters without any defects.


The PTFE tube has a very high current resistance. There is no way for static electricity to adhere to the surface of the material through polytetrafluoroethylene. Once the critical point is reached, there is a possibility of sparking.


In applications involving flammable vapors, sparks are very dangerous. In order to solve this problem, a filler such as carbon is added to the PTFE tube to discharge the electrostatic electricity by the material. The addition of carbon reduces the insulation properties of the PTFE tube to a certain extent, but the final properties of the material are still much higher than any conventional insulator.
